In collaboration with our partners in the United States and New Zealand, Qualitas has carried out a large sampling project in apple orchards in both Poland and the Netherlands throughout the Autumn of 2021.

Through analysis of isotopes, the origins of nature’s products can be identified better and better. Isotopes are a kind of ‘fingerprints’ derived from the chemical composition of, for example, plants and seeds. In collaboration with our partners in the United States and New Zealand, Qualitas has carried out a large sampling project in apple orchards in both Poland and the Netherlands throughout the Autumn of 2021. We have sampled more than 200 locations. The apple samples will be analyzed at the start of 2022 in New Zealand for their uptake of minerals from the soil on which they have grown. All orchards visited have voluntarily participated. Together with Qualitas, they contribute in this way to the traceability of apples and to the scientific knowledge regarding the composition of apples in various regions in the countries in which they are located. More projects are sure to come in the near future.
